❤ Shouting a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Riedel Foundation for awarding HAYS $15,000 to go toward school supplies for students at the Back to School Fair, and helping address students' ongoing unmet needs throughout the academic year. 🏴☠️
This grant was INSTRUMENTAL in making our inaugural Back to School Fair a possibility.
We hope to see YOU at the Fair on Saturday, where our community partners will be distributing thousands of dollars in school supplies. ALL HPS students Pre-K- 12 grade are welcome!

During their first week of summer school, Ms. Blaine’s 1st grade campers explored how heat changes things, reviewed sight words and math concepts with games and enjoyed a story from a mystery reader- Mrs. O’Cheltree!

🌳Thank you Mississippi Hills Master Naturalists for bringing your expertise to elementary summer school, presenting interesting insights about trees! 🌲

Ms. Snodgrass' students participated in a STEM activity that fit with their class camping theme. The challenge was to build a tent that could withstand water being poured on top. To be successful, the cotton balls inside the tent had to stay dry.

Mrs. Hiles' third grade class has been learning about countries around the world. After learning about France, students built their own Eiffel towers.

Mrs. Massie’s 4th grade class has been reading about sharks. They observed a shark cage, and then built a mini shark cage with pretzels and marshmallow snacks.

4th and 5th grade summer school students have been learning about fishing. Earlier in the week, Coach Menze taught students about fishing safety and how to cast. Today, they got to apply what they learned!
Thank you to Coach Menze and the Missouri Conservation Department for making this possible!

Thank you to the Hannibal Fire Department and Marion County Ambulance District for talking to our summer school students about how to stay safe this summer!
