HMS Leaders of the Crew in Mrs. Williams's class volunteered their time and talents today at the Salvation Army's Family store!
Students worked in groups to clean, arrange home decor, and organize shoes. Some shoes are even coming back to HMS to go to students in need, thank you Salvation Army! 🥰🎉
Earlier in the year, students learned about the Salvation Army and how they support our community, and were excited to help support their mission as they prepare for the stores Grand REopening this Friday!
Great job, leaders! 👏🏻🏴☠️

Here's a cool throwback to 1957, when students embarked on HPS's first bus route! Many things have changed since then, but our commitment to providing safe and reliable transportation for our students remains as strong as ever. We're grateful for our dedicated transportation team that works hard every day to ensure our students get to school on time and ready to learn. 🙌
Also pictured is the first fleet of school busses owned by the district. Who remembers where the original bus barn was?
📷 Steve Chou- thank you for sharing these from your archive ❤🏴☠️

Happy HPS #ShoutoutSaturday to Alex Baker! Alex is a Senior at HHS, in the BEST program, and has recently joined the team as a custodian at HHS!
From his nominator, "Alex has filled a big void by cleaning Korf Gymnasium over the last several weeks when we had no employee designated to our facility. He has been a tremendous asset to Korf & does all the little things that go unnoticed by so many. He doesn't just come & sweep the locker room, he vacuums the rugs, he mops the locker rooms, he cleans the toilets, he takes out the trash, etc. the young man does it all & does with an amazing attitude! His pride & attention to detail is extremely uncommon; we appreciate him so much for the job he does here!"
Thank you for all you do Alex!

Happy HPS #Shoutout Saturday to Derek Greening, ag science teacher at HHS!
Mr. Greening is willing to lend a hand where needed throughout the district , while always setting a great example for students. His nomination today comes from staff at the Early Childhood Center.
"I am nominating Derek Greening because he so graciously helps out the ECC by repairing our supplies!! If we have toys, chair/stools, wooden puzzles or any item in need of mending, he is always willing to do what he can to help!! He and his students also rebuilt the bridge on our nature trail. Without the bridge, we would not be able to use our much treasured nature trail. Derek not only deserves a shout out because he helps out the ECC, he also works tirelessly for the district by driving busses and by putting his all into teaching classes. Derek is a valued member of the Hannibal Pirates team!"

Among our amazing staff, we are fortunate to have a hardworking Maintenance Team! These men are electricians, mechanics, HVAC technicians, carpenters, and overall handymen. Our students are able to learn in high-quality environments because of them.

Happy HPS #ShoutoutSaturday to one of our amazing bus drivers, Caleb Brookshire!
"Caleb has driven our children on bus 13 for quite some time. In that time, I have witnessed him greet each of them by name and with a smile every morning, graciously wait for us when we we’re running late, participate in spirit week dress up days, and even decorate his bus for the holidays. Caleb is very kind, respectful, polite and displays that to each student who enters and exits his bus every day. We truly appreciate Caleb and everything he does for the students of our school district! As my daughter says, “Mr. Caleb is the best!”
