🌟HHS: French 4 students took an immersive field trip to the cave of Lascaux of France! 🎨
Although we didn't physically travel to France, students embarked on a thrilling simulation where they explored the wonders of Lascaux cave.
Students have been learning about prehistoric France and wanted to witness the amazing cave art. Inside the 'cave' students read a play about the accidental discovery of the cave by four teenagers in September of 1940. 📚🏴☠️

Learning is extra fun when you can be silly 🎉
Ms. Blaine’s and Ms. McFarlands kindergarten classes enjoyed a silly song with Ms. Shaw at Veterans Elementary school this afternoon!
Students adore her, and love the goofiness she shares with them every single day!☺️💛

📢 HPS Parents & Guardians: Please join us in the HHS cafeteria for an informational night covering the "How-tos" of Infinite Campus and Go Guardian!
💻Tutorials will also be recorded and shared on our YouTube channel after the meeting.
Thank you for your continued patience as we transition to a new student information system. Our staff continues to work daily on collecting information we need for staff and families from Infinite Campus. We appreciate your partnership through it all. ❤🏴☠️
Special shoutout to Mr. Lovelace and his Sports Broadcasting class for making the informational graphic. Sports broadcasting is a ✨brand new✨ course at HHS this year, and we are excited to see more of their work!

💻 Students in Ms. Jeffries 5th grade class got to show their skills with google slides as they made presentations about their table mates in this fun get to know you activity!
They asked each other creative questions, helped each other to format and design each slide, then planned and presented as a group to the entire class. 🎉
Ms. Jeffries added, "The knowledge and confidence with technology they are coming into the classroom with is a testament to the teachers hard work and diligence in the grade levels below! "

Today the Hannibal Area Ceo class got to learn from Allie Bennet, the Manager of Economic Development and Member Services at Northeast Power!
⭐Allie shared her valuable insights and experiences, showing students the importance of communicating effectively and working collaboratively. She did a great job explaining how crucial these skills are not only to succeed academically, but also in their future careers and personal relationships. ⭐
Huge shoutout to Allie Bennet and Northeast Power for investing their time and expertise in our students' growth and education. 👏🙌

➕✍ At Mark Twain Elementary School, Mr. Overfield's 4th grade students picked numbers from their life (age, # of pets, address, etc.) And then came up math problems that equaled their numbers to quiz their classmates. 📝
This was a fun way to brush up on math skills and get to know each other a little more! Mr. Over field added, 📢 "shoutout Mrs. Bradshaw for this fun idea!"
We ❤ math & collaboration! 🏴☠️

🎨 Art students at Oakwood started school with an exceptionally fun and challenging drawing activity last week!
Students were instructed to draw an object as a team with two rules:
• You can't touch the marker - only its cap
• Everyone has to help (work as a team)
In all the classes, students immediately started pulling the strings and coming up with unique and creative ways to solve the problem all as a team. Some teams chose to stand up, some chose to move the paper, some choose to use the cap only touching the cap to draw. 🤩
In the end, classes discussed synergy, creativity thinking, problem solving, and just creating art without the expectations of it being perfect. ❤
Mrs. Penrose's favorite part was no one gave up and everyone thought about drawing different for a few minutes! 🎨
Great work everyone! 👏👏👏

Mrs. Hedges 1st grade class at Mark Twain Elementary had fun today getting to know each other through a learning game called "Friends Bingo" today!
Recess looks a little different with the heat index, but that didn't stop the fun! Students played together inside and even got to put their critical thinking skills to the test! 🏴☠️

During the first few days in the classroom, students are often learning expectations and getting to know their teachers.
Today, we had a heartwarming experience visiting Ms. Terra Murphy's 2nd grade class at Oakwood while SHE learned what her students want from her this year. ❤️
Ms. Murphy has been teaching for 30 years, with the most recent 25 being with HPS. We are proud to have such caring and dedicated teachers on our team that care about students with their whole heart, teaching them many things -- both inside and outside of a text book. ❤️🏴☠️
