The Hannibal Board of Education has made the difficult decision to close Eugene Field Elementary School at the end of the current school year. This decision was based on the district’s need to address declining enrollment and optimize the use of its facilities to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
Eugene Field Elementary has been a cherished part of the district’s history, but changes in student population have made it necessary to evaluate how resources are allocated. The closure will allow the district to better utilize space and focus resources where they are most needed.
